Hi Everyone

What plans do you have for the Christmas holidays? Are you going out, having family and friends over or going away?

I've been married for 40 years and have only once been invited out for Christmas lunch. Now you would expect that by this year I should be an expert on cooking a turkey and timing everything else to be on the table at the same time but I fear it will be the usual panic stations in our house this year as in all the others. The best one was when having served the first helping the oven door got stuck and my father had to remove the glass front panel so we could have seconds. I was not best amused when my sister-in-law rang from South Africa to wish us a happy day and dissolved into hysterics when told of the problem.

Let's hear about any similar sagas you've had so we can have a laugh to reduce any stress this season may bring.

Smile ohh what anticks u had re cooker door got stuck.

he he we had that trouble last year-lol brother needs new cooker.


well we go away this sat for 4 nights then mum,dad big brother coming just for xmas day only by car.
bringing with them.
then parents spend boxing day with grandkids.ahh so i shall not see my nephews or other brother,wify.

cooked turkey,fresh veg dads home grown. etc.
we supllying electric,some food and drinks.
dad brings own beer lol.

after that its just us 2.
no mum inlaw father in laws one lot in South africa other lot going away for xmas this year.

uncle not doing xmas just lost his wife this year.
etc tec.

I remember one Christmas when we had a real tree. We woke up Christmas morning to an invasion of woodlice-they had been in the tree and the warmth had woken them all up! They were al over the pressies and everywhere. We had to chuck the tree out before the kids saw it and we ended up decorating a rubber plant instead.
Then when we pulled the crackers at lunchtime- guess what came out of one!!!
YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.
